Akwa Ibom Development Projects Ready For Inauguration On May 29, 2013 May 15, 2013

More development projects in Akwa Ibom State undertaken and completed by Governor Godswill Akpabio administration are ready for inauguration on May 29, this year.
Chief Akpabio, who stated this on Tuesday during inspection tour of some projects, expressed his happiness with the different contractors for timely delivery of high quality job
The Governor, who inspected Ukpom Abak-Idoro Road measuring twenty-nine kilometres, said the last administration in the state tried to construct the road which was in a deplorable state but to no avail, saying he was happy standing on the road.
At the Ukpom bridge in Abak Local Government Area, Chief Akpabio remarked “The bridge which is fifty metres has given access road to Ukpom General Hospital. This project was constructed by Raycon Construction Company Ltd. and I must commend the company for doing a good job in keeping to the specification of the project. I also want to congratulate the state Ministry of Works for close supervision of the job”.
The Managing Director of Raycon Construction Company Limited, Engr. Gabriel Sarkis said that the project took eight months to be completed, and advised the community to be receptive, noting that the company has a cordial relationship with the state government.
Also speaking, Barr. Usen Ibokette, an indigene of the community who recalled that some years ago the road was in a horrible state while there was access between Ukpom General Hospital and Ikono Uyo, thanked the Governor for the speedy construction of the road.
Later, Governor Akpabio, accompanied by the Commissioner for Works, Mr. Don Etim, and some members of the State Executive Council inspected the Aka-Ikot Ekan-Ediene Abak Road.
Though six of eight kilometres of Mbierebe Obio-Ikot Ekan- Ediene Abak Road have been completed and ready for inauguration, the Governor directed the contractor – Raycon Construction Company Limited to tar a small stretch of the road and build a roundabout at Ekpene Ikpan Nsit junction for free flow of traffic.
