AKWA IBOM GOVT CONDOLES WITH AIR MARSHAL NSIKAK EDUOK OVER DEMISE OF WIFE
Akwa Ibom Government has condoled with Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok (Retired), a one-time Chief of Air Staff in the country over the demise of his wife, Nkese.
Akwa Ibom Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, accompanied by his wife, Unoma and his Deputy, Nsima Ekere paid a condolence visit to Air Marshal Eduok at his residence in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo on Friday.
Chief Akpabio remarked,” On behalf of the people of Akwa Ibom Government, I condole with you today on the sudden death of your wife. It came as a shock to us because she was bubbling with life and was strong that no one would have believed the story”.
He described the deceased as a virtuous woman who was full of life, a patron, a pillar and part of her husband, saying ”Today, we feel the pain of this unfortunate incident, but our consolation is in the word of God that death is not the end of life. For Christians, there is hope of eternal life, where we would meet to part no more”.
The Governor noted ”So, as a husband, you must not be weighed down by her death but continue to care for your children. Accept her death as the will of God, which we can’t question him. And we pray that such tragedy won’t repeat itself again”, adding that she stood by him when he rose to the peak of Nigeria Air Force in the country.
Air Marshal Eduok expressed appreciation to the Governor and entourage on the visit, saying that he that was encouraged and overwhelmed by the visit.
Eduok pointed out that he was a husband to his wife but that ownership of his wife belonged to God, which he could not question God why he took her away, but to only thank him because he knows that his wife died in the lord to meet her again on the resurrection morning.
He used the occasion to flaunt a medal of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) conferred on him by a representative of Federal Government and thanked President Jonathan for honor he bestowed on him.
Mrs. Eduok died a week ago in an Indian Hospital while undergoing a major operation after a protracted illness.
Meanwhile, Governor Akpabio has condoled with the family of Crispin Inoh of Ikot Edibon in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area over the demise of their mother and wife, Mrs. Bassey Inoh at the age of 82.
Chief Akpabio who paid a condolence visit on the family on Friday described the departed as a great nurse who diligently served the state and a great mother to all who came her way while she was alive.
He said he personally related with her while she was alive and urged the family to be consoled by the fact that she was a good wife, pledging to renovate Government Primary School, Ikot Edibon in memory of the deceased. A son of the deceased, Pastor Enoh C. Inoh, thanked the Governor for the visit and show of magnanimity to his family.
