Over 30 Companies sign up for the Akwa Ibom State Economic Summit and Investment 2012 July 22, 2012

In two weeks, the Akwa Ibom State Economic Summit and Investment Expo 2012 takes place in Houston, Texas. Themed Moving Akwa Ibom Forward, the summit aims to highlight the primacy of transformational leadership in establishing and sustaining Akwa Ibom State as a regional hub of economic development in Nigeria. 

Already, representatives from over 30 companies/potential investors have confirmed participation. Companies include financial institutions and other businesses from the United States, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirate and Nigeria. They (companies) represent a range of economic sectors including oil and gas, agriculture, banking, aviation, education and industrial manufacturing. 

AIDN, collaborating with the US Bilateral African Chamber of Commerce (USBACC), expects some more companies to confirm participation leading to the Summit. 

The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Chief Godswill Akpabio, CON, will be the Distinguished Keynote Speaker. He will be accompanied to the event by a delegation of federal and state government officials, members of the Nigerian diplomatic corps, the press as well as business and social leaders.
